In Encyclopedia of Wargames Vol.2, we will take a detailed look at the most popular and easy-to-apply painting techniques for wargaming vehicles, designed to achieve fast and effective results. These methods are ideal for hobbyists taking their first steps in the hobby, as well as for those who value speed and efficiency.
Wargaming combines two hobbies: modelling —painting an army and preparing it for battle— and gaming —using that army on the battlefield. This means hobbyists must divide their limited time between both aspects. As a result, in most cases, speed takes precedence over ultimate quality. This does not mean painting poorly, but rather simplifying and skipping critical steps in order to achieve effective results in the shortest possible time.
In this book, we have gathered a collection of simple and accessible painting techniques suitable for all audiences ranging from beginner painters to more experienced hobbyists who want to add new effects without sacrificing speed. Classic techniques such as drybrushing are included, which only require a brush and a little paint, but we will also make extensive use of the airbrush.
In addition, we will explore how to use different types of paint focusing mainly on acrylics, and also includes using enamels, and oils to create effects, generate contrast, and tell a story using materials such as pigments, which allow you to easily create very realistic effects.
After reviewing these techniques in detail, several artists demonstrate step by step how to paint a vehicle or unit from start to finish, combining the different methods explained. This volume includes a wide variety of scales (15, 28, and 32 mm) and themes ranging from science fiction and fantasy vehicles, to a helicopter, and both modern and World War II subjects.
Paperback, 135 pages with high-quality full color photographs.
Limited edition. Only available until stock runs out.
